Modern Quilt-A-Long Block Two: Spool

Previously I wrote about my first block in the Modern-Quilt-A-Long that is being hosted by And Sew We Craft. This month we were challenged with a less complicated block called Spool.

This is what I came up with:

IMG_2551It is a pretty literal interpretation but I really felt like playing with that center section. You can see what my fellow Quilt-a-Long companions have come up with here.

The center spooly part was fun to do here is the back so you get an idea of what I did

All the blocks are coming from the same book

mod blocks3

which can be purchased from Book Depository (or Amazon…).

I can’t wait to see what they have in store for us next month!

Thank you so much for the sweet compliment. I am really liking this color combo too and I had fun making the thread of the spool. Can’t wait for next months block!
